Week 14 Game Scripts: Giants Roll The Redskins

The New York Giants have not been very good this season: heading into week 14, the Giants were 4-8 and ranked 24th in points differential. But on Sunday, the Giants bludgeoned a Redskins team down to third-string quarterback Mark Sanchez, seven years after the Giants bewildered Sanchez in a season-saving victory that launched the team’s Super Bowl success.

The Giants had the best Game Script in week 14, while the Jets had the biggest Game Scripts comeback. The Jets trailed the Bills 17-6 in the 2nd quarter and 20-13 entering the 4th quarter, but came back to beat Buffalo 23-20. The full week 14 Game Scripts are below:

Among winning teams, no offense passed more frequently than Kansas City. Yes, the Chiefs have MVP-favorite Patrick Mahomes, and are down Kareem Hunt, but it’s still noteworthy set a new career high with 53 pass attempts.

On the other side, the Seahawks struggled significantly in the passing game on Monday Night Football, and leaned heavily on the ground game. This has been a season-long trend for Seattle, as the offense ranks 1st in rushing attempts and rushing yards, and 32nd in pass attempts (and 29th in passing yards).  Doug Baldwin has been banged up, and Jimmy Graham and Paul Richardson are no longer in Seattle.    That has left Russell Wilson devoid of weapons, and has turned Seattle back in to a running team.  On the other hand, Wilson is still having a very efficient year passing the ball, so this formula appears to be working well in Seattle.
