I think 5 AFC teams have a legitimate chance of getting to the Super Bowl.

    Wild Card Round

    (5) Kansas City over (4) Houston
    (6) Pittsburgh over (3) Cincinnati
    (4) Washington over (5) Green Bay
    (6) Seattle over (3) Minnesota

    Conference Championships

    (2) New England over (6) Pittsburgh
    (6) Seattle over (2) Arizona

    Super Bowl

    (6) Seattle over (2) New England

Kind of weird all the home teams in the wild card games starting QBs with no playoff experience while the visitors have three Super Bowl winners and one who would have gone to the Super Bowl if not for his teams punt returner.

After filling mine out surprised how many agreed with my SB prediction. I wonder how many others chose it despite its being the last matchup they want to see.

  • We are all out. Bummer.

    • Johhny Ohrl

?? Many have ARZ (over) NE. Which would be awesome. Chase (& those who predicted the same outcome) picks in gods ears, and this season would go down as the best ever… Beautiful high end skilled offensive teams in sync slugging it out. I wait for such a dream pairing since 2009… and before that we have to go all the way back to 1984. It´s overdue.

      • I don’t see a perfect ballot in the bunch. Picking the end result and having a correct ballot are two different things.

As for the rest of the comment, I’m not sure what you’re talking about. The offenses in the 1998 and 1991 Super Bowls were arguably superior to the ones playing in 2009. Using SRS as a proxy for offensive strength, the 2009 Super Bowl saw IND (offensive SRS of 4.4) face NOR (11.2). The 1998 Super Bowl pitted DEN (9.5) against ATL (7.0). The 1991 Super Bowl featured BUF (7.6) and WAS (11.7).

Maybe the style of those teams doesn’t match the description of the type of offensive teams you like to see, but they were nonetheless dominant when they had the ball.

        • Johhny Ohrl

98 spoiled it for me when the leg swinger missed for MIN. But ATL was the 2nd best choice, still it could have been a better SB match-up.
91 was great, I just missed it. Thanks for bringing it up.
09 was the perfect storm. Two number one seeds, and two of the best four passing offensives available. I didnt count on SD in the playoffs since I KNEW from the start Norv the smurf will spoil another Chargers season…

          • Richie

Tough spot – you had 2 chokers involved on the AFC side (Turner and Manning). I guess one had to make it through.

            • Johhny Ohrl

              LOLZ. Yes 🙂

  • Josh Sanford

Am I right in thinking that none of us picked Panthers to even get to the SB?
