At least there is some historical and regional justification for playing SMU. And NW St is nearby anyhow. But Buffalo? C'mon man. This is a good chance for the committee to show that playing weak non-conference games, even in-state, old rivals, doesn't get you to the Final Four.

Ultimately if both Baylor and TCU go undefeated the rest of the way you have to look at Baylors embarrassing non conference slate as a tie breaker for TCU.

Buffalo, SMU and Northwestern State should not cut it for a power conference team. TCU at least pummeled an average to slightly above average Minnesota team. Hell they even have a bigger win over common non conference opponent SMU.

The committee should not reward teams that load up the non conference portion of their schedule with easy wins. Its a bad precedent to set going forwatd
