The 1974 Raiders had everything set up for themselves to reach, and possibly win, the SB. Had the AFC's home field advantage, and knocked off Miami in one of the most exciting playoff games ever. Had already beaten the Steelers in Pittsburgh by 17 during the regular season. This one was of those years when the Oakland-Miami game felt like it was the conference title game, it easily overshadowed the Steelers-Bills matchup.

The 2002 Raiders had the misfortune of losing their starting center who went AWOL in Mexico before the game, and the inside knowledge Jon Gruden had about Rich Gannon and the Raider's offense. Gruden(who was a college QB), took snaps in practice, mimicking the style, and tendencies of Gannon. Not surprisingly, the Bucs rolled to the easy win.
