Funny in the end I think we were both kinda right about the game. The 49ers offense -- I can see what you were talking about! And Tyler, yeah... the Ravens D was on fumes by the end! But the Ravens were able to move the ball most of the game, too.. as I figured they could. But I thought they got WAY too conservative in the 2nd half --- shoulda gone for it on 4th and one after the power outage.. gone for the TD from the 1 1/2 yard line, etc. This game was SO similar to the NFC Championship game until the end... the difference is the Ravens' 2nd half drives at least ended in two field goals and not turnovers. Kaepernick is the real deal, but those 2 timeouts they had to take killed them in the end.
One final note from me: to me, the no-call on 4th down is no different than the no-call on 4th down in Atlanta that sealed the Niners' victory there, however po'd Jim H. is about it. But didn't it seems like two Ravens held one of the Niners on the Jones 108 yard kickoff return?

In reply to <a href="http://www.footballperspective.com/super-bowl-xlvii-preview/#comment-9072">Mac</a>.

I would add one caveat to your statement. The 49ers by-and-large couldn't stop the Falcons offense IN THE FIRST HALF of the NFC Championship game. You claim that the Falcons stopped themselves but I didn't see Roddy White catch the ball and then hand it to Chris Culliver, nor did Matt Ryan WANT to mishandle that snap. The 49ers play sound fundamental defense and if you've watched them throughout the year you'd note that this is how their opponents' turnovers usually occur. The 49ers rarely make mistakes on defense and the offense gets worn down over the course of the game. Look for it to happen today as well. Flacco is a great QB no doubt, and the Ravens have great players, but the 49ers are the better team and deserve to be favored to win it. That being said, we all know that anything can happen.
