Of course they'll be a top 10 D, they always have under Ryan. But this is the most talent he's had on that side of the ball. On offense, it'll simply be addition by subtraction. Take away half of Sanchez' pick-6s and you have a different season. Add in Sparano's ball control offense, unlike Shotty's ridiculous pass-happy offense, and you have the makings of 2009 again...with a better QB, or two of them.

I agree, Andrew. The offense will be below average by most standards, and it will be up to the defense to carry the team. A top-five defense with the 20th offense is still a playoff team, provided that the offense doesn't shoot the team in the foot. For the Jets, that will mean cutting down on turnovers and running more frequently. The interesting case will be what happens when the Jets get down early in games, and how Sparano's offense (and Sanchez) handle playing from behind. But in any event, I expect a more run-heavy offense. The key of course will be how well the line can play in 2012, and the ability of Greene and the other backs.
