See my comments above... those teams didn't win championships because the competition was so stout. They weren't upset by weak teams, they met strong teams playing at their peak.

The Cowboys, Vikings and Rams every year in the NFC, the Raiders, Dolphins, and Steelers in the AFC.

It was a daunting task to beat any of those teams.

IMO those Steelers teams are the greatest of all time. I'm a diehard Cowboys fan, and it pains me to say it, but the 70's Steelers were the most dominant team ever.

When you see the teams on here that beat the Cowboys in championship games repeatedly by less than a TD (the Packers, the Steelers), and the teams the Cowboys BEAT (the Rams and Vikings) you see why Landry's boys became America's team. They won 2 SBs in the 70's, but for 15 years, almost every year, you had to beat Dallas if you wanted to win the championship. And the 'Boys had to beat great teams to get to 5 SBs.

I can't watch the NFL anymore. Two slightly above average teams play in the SB each year.
