"The Football Outsiders’ Almanac shows that the Pats’ offense was actually pretty good late in the season without Gronk, but they were terrible early in the year―they actually had a negative DVOA without him. Over the last two regular seasons, the Pats have averaged 34 PPG with Gronkowski, but six points fewer in New England’s 14 Gronk-less games ... Taking just the games where Gronk played, the Pats have ranked 1st, 3rd, 1st, and 2nd in offensive DVOA over the last four years."

This makes me wonder, who is more important to the Patriots success this season - Brady or Gronkowski? It's probably still Brady, but is it fair to say Gronkowski is what elevates the Patriots from contenders to favorites? The infamous "one player away" or "missing piece"?

Ever since Randy Moss arrived on the scene, Brady has really liked to go to his #1 guy. Was it a coincidence the Pats traded Moss only a few days after Brady tried to go to him time and again in a losing effort vs the Jets, only to have uncharacteristically more interceptions in the game while forcing it to Moss?
