I agree. Garner’s first five years seem way too low here and Addai’s seem too high, in terms of representing the quality of the player. Addai generated only 3 points of AV after those first five years (compared to Garner’s 67).

I’d attribute his slightly below-average AV his first five years more to playing behind Ricky Watters and Duce Staley than to having basked in the reflected glory of Heath Shuler.
