The most damning move was the extension given to Sanchez, which now hamstrings the team, preventing it from moving on from the quarterback without serious penalty for at least another year.

Moves like this are so fascinating. Is there anybody (perhaps including Sanchez) who thought this extension made any sense? Seems like just about every sport has about one of these every year - a move that every fan and analyst can see is a dumb move, and goes on to prove itself correct.

Are these cases of guys mis-judging the talent? Or is it more CYA and not willing to admit it's time to move on? Of course, bringing in Tebow after extending Sanchez makes even less sense.
