Here&#039;s the issue I have regarding Don Hutson - Was he really that much better, or did he benefit from the circumstances he played under more than most? Remeber, back then teams didn&#039;t really play &quot;pass defense&quot;, nor did they shift coverages, nor did they double or triple cover players. He also played on a team that threw the ball far more than the average team (his 1942 season GB threw around 100 more passes than the league average). I have no doubt he was the best WR of his era, but I think it might be a bit of a stretch to put him up so high on the all time list. I&#039;ve seen highlights, but nothing on film shows him as being much more than faster than the defender]]></description>
