Good points. Kind of reminds me of the DeAndre Jordan arguments in basketball. His FG% is insanely high. Some think “Well yeah, cause all he does is dunk, and most on lobs at that.” Perhaps, but if it were easy wouldn’t we see more players doing it?

Often, defenses already know the exact play, and that takes the element of surprise away from an offense. On pass attempts, QBs can check down to a number of different targets, and some can even run for short, important gains.
