Case in point, the Saints with Drew Brees. I would hate to see that happen to the Packers.

As you say the Lions after years and years of searching, finally found their franchise QB unlike their Division rival the Bears who have been searching without success since the days of Jim McMahon. In my mind Stafford is the 2nd best QB in franchise history behind Layne of course and the coming years will only cement that. For the Lions to reach the next level and go on a deep Playoff run, securing that long overdue Playoff win, they need a Running Game which has basically been non-existent up till now and a few stars on Defense. I also have my doubts as to whether Jim Caldwell has what it takes to lead this team.
