I would have to think that’s the case (that 3-4 OLBs are holding the bulk of the value). If there was a way to easily throw them in with DL, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a downward trend (for just ILB & 4-3 OLB).

We hear that it’s a “devalued” position akin to RB, but there was a much clearer, stronger downward trend for the latter. I guess there has been a rise in 3-4 defenses in that time, so perhaps it’s just that the 3-4 OLBs are covering up a downward trend in the more traditional linebackers?
