I don’t have a problem with Darius Slay being in the conversation or making the team. It’s not on him that the flaws in the voting process put him on the team ahead of two players who received more votes.

I am glad the AP system is way better than the Pro Bowl system as far as positions go (insofar as it acknowledges that hardly anyone uses fullbacks anymore, and that 3-4 and 4-3 OLB’s are completely different positions, etc). But as you point out, the Khalil Mack and AJ Bouye situations highlight some continued flaws. I hope they keep trying to tweak it.

Having said that, I think Darius Slay is a worthy entry. He acquitted himself very well against a murderers row of #1 receivers (healthy Odell Beckham, Julio Jones. Thielen/Diggs, Michael Thomas, Antonio Brown, Mike Evans, AJ Green)…all while playing on a defense with one of the worst pass rushes in the league. (I will acknowledge I may be a little biased, given my rooting interests).
